Narendra was a great guest-servant even in extreme poverty. Staying hungry, he used to provide food to the guest, himself used to stay wet all night in the rain outside and put the guest to sleep on his bed.

Swami Vivekananda Ji arrived as the representative of India in it. The people of Europe and America used to look at the subjugated Indians at that time with a very inferior sight. Their people tried hard not to get time for Swami Vivekananda to speak in the Sarva Dharma Parishad. The effort of an American professor gave him some time but all the scholars were surprised to hear his views.

Then he was very welcome in America. There was a large community of his devotees there. He stayed in America for three years and provided a wonderful light of Indian philosophy to the people there.

'The world will be orphaned without spiritualism and Indian philosophy' This was the firm belief of Swami Vivekananda. In America, he established several branches of the Ramakrishna Mission.
